Privacy Policy

You can play Momentle without an account. We collect only the information needed to run the game and, if you choose to create an account, to keep your progress.

Information you provide

• ·Account information — if you sign in, we store your email address. When you use Google, Apple, or X (Twitter) to sign in, that provider shares your email and basic profile information (such as your name) with us. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature, we receive a private relay address instead of your real email.
• ·Profile data — a display name and an optional public username you choose, used to identify you on leaderboards and your profile page.
• ·Game progress — your saved progress synced to your account, including your Momentle IQ, daily streaks, bosses defeated, total games played, achievements, and run history.
• ·Leaderboard name — if you submit a score to a public leaderboard, your chosen display name is stored alongside the score.
• ·Messages you send — if you email us for support, feedback, or a data request, we receive whatever you include.

Information collected automatically

• ·Usage data — pages visited, game modes played, scores, and result grades.
• ·Device and browser type — collected by analytics tools to understand how the site is used.
• ·IP address — logged by our hosting provider and analytics tools as part of standard server operation.
• ·Share links — when you share a result, a unique share link is generated and stored so it can be retrieved.
• ·Local game state — in-progress games and preferences (such as daily streak state) are saved to your browser’s localStorage. This stays on your device.

We use the data we collect to:

• ·Create and manage your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
• ·Save your progress and sync it across your devices.
• ·Run and improve the Momentle games and features.
• ·Generate and serve shareable result cards.
• ·Display public leaderboards.
• ·Understand which modes are popular and fix bugs.
• ·Ensure the security and reliability of the Service.
• ·Respond to your support requests and data requests.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Accounts are optional. You can create one using an email magic link (a one-time sign-in link sent to your email — no password) or by signing in with Google, Apple, or X (Twitter).

We use Supabase to handle authentication. When you sign in, a session is stored in your browser so you stay signed in across visits. We never see or store your Google, Apple, or X password — those providers handle the login and return only the limited profile information described above.

We use third-party analytics tools (such as Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights) to collect aggregated, largely anonymized usage and performance data. These tools may process your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, solely to help us understand how the site is used and to improve performance.

Leaderboard entries are public. If you submit your name and score to a leaderboard, your display name and score will be visible to other users.

Share links are publicly accessible by anyone with the link. Share cards contain your result (score, grade, mode) but do not contain any personally identifiable information beyond what you chose to share.

Momentle uses browser localStorage to save your in-progress games and preferences (such as daily streak state), and to store your sign-in session so you stay logged in. This data lives in your browser.

We may use cookies for basic site functionality and authentication. We also display ads through Google AdSense; Google and its partners may set cookies to serve ads and measure their performance. We rely on a small number of trusted providers to deliver the Service. Each processes data only as needed to provide their function, under their own privacy policies:

• ·Vercel — website hosting and analytics.
• ·Supabase — database and authentication.
• ·Google AdSense — displays ads and may use advertising cookies to serve and measure them.
• ·Google, Apple, and X (Twitter) — optional sign-in providers, used only if you choose to sign in with them.

We keep account and progress data for as long as your account is active. Leaderboard entries and share results may be retained indefinitely to keep the game functional.

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below. We will delete your account data within 30 days, though anonymized or aggregated data and public leaderboard history may be retained. Local storage data can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

EU/UK residents: where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process your data to provide the Service (contract), to improve and secure it (legitimate interests), and with your consent where required.

Momentle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
